Pianist, bandoneonist and composer, Claudio Constantini maintains a multifaceted career that he has developed across 5 continents. Born in Lima (Peru) into a family of musicians, his original style is defined by his solid classical roots coupled with a tireless passion for popular musical genres such as Latin American music and jazz.
He began his piano studies at the National Conservatory of Peru under the tutelage of his father (Gerardo Constantini). He then received his bachelor’s degree in Finland, his master's degree in Holland, and the diplome de concert in Paris, all of them with honors. He was a student and assistant to Aquiles Delle Vigne, a disciple of the legendary pianists Claudio Arrau and Gyorgy Cziffra.
Constantini's performances during the 2017/2018 season include concerts given in some of the most important music venues, such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Konzerthaus or the National Music Auditorium (Madrid), as well as performances in the festivals of Rheingau (Germany) Klassik an Dom (Austria) and the festival of Ravinia (USA), among others.
As a bandoneonist, among other projects, his Tango Jazz Quintet stands out, composed of some of the most outstanding musicians of the jazz scene in Spain, with whom he plays his own compositions. The group has done several European tours, including appearances on national radio and television in Spain.
He has recorded a total of 5 albums under his name, all with great distribution and international accolades ,including those dedicated to Claude Debussy, with plans to eventually record the entirety of his works for piano under the Spanish label IBS Classical. The first of these, entitled "Reflets dans l'eau" was selected among the ten best albums of 2015 by Fanfare Magazine (USA).
Constantini has been invited to teach master classes in institutions and festivals in Europe as well as abroad; he has formed part of the jury in several international piano competitions. He is also the organizer of "Pianistic Spring," a Belgian festival and contest for young pianists featuring master classes and concerts.
He is the bandoneonist of "Astor, the music of Astor Piazzolla", a quintet that plays the music of the great Argentine composer and bandoneon player.
